Civil War Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient. He was a Prisoner of War. He entered the Union Army at Lyons, New York. He served as a Sergeant in Company C, 14th New York Heavy Artillery. He was awarded the CMOH for action on July 30, 1864 at Petersburg, Virginia.
