DATE OF MOH ACTION: 03/09/1899 Porac, Philippines.

 

Philippine Insurrection Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient. He served in the United States Army during the Philippine Insurrection as a Private in Company A, 36th United States Volunteer Infantry. He was awarded the CMOH for his bravery in action at Porac, Luzon, Philippine Islands.

 

Killed in action on December 1, 1900 at Pilar in the Abra Province of the Philippines, his Medal was posthumously awarded to him on February 7, 1902. His remains were re-buried in the San Francisco National Cemetery from the Philippines on June 17, 1902.

 

MOH CITATION:

 

Distinguished gallantry in action in driving off a superior force and with the assistance of 1 comrade brought from the field of action the bodies of 2 comrades, 1 killed and the other severely wounded, this while on a scout.
